Balloons From Above - Balloon Fiesta Timelapse from 10k'

20. 4. 2021

A timelapse of The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta taken from an elevation of 10,600' on top of the Sandia Mountains. Watch the sunrise roll across the city, fog drift off of the Rio Grande and several hundred hot air balloons take part in the "Box Effect", a weather phenomenon that allows balloons to fly in a box pattern and land exactly where they took off from! Also captured are pilots doing the "Splash & Dash" when balloons fly just above the river and take occasional dips into the water. All footage taken on the morning of October 8th, 2017. Shot with Nikon D810 & D750 with Nikkor 80-400mm and Sigma 15-600mm lenses.
