Linville Gorge Spacenet and Highlining

The first known spacenet in the southeastern United States was rigged in the Linville Gorge in October of 2016. A spacenet is a net suspended hundreds of feet above a valley by highlines (slacklines) and accessed by ziplining or walking on the highline to the middle of the net. The Linville Gorge is a nationally protected wilderness area located in Western North Carolina in the Blue Ridge Mountains, between Boone and Morganton. It is known as the "Grand Canyon of the East" and is a popular destination for climbing, backpacking, hiking, and camping.
