Speleology in Estaing mine, Hiking to the mines in the Val d'Azun

Espuyos is a large Mining area. Exploited by various techniques (open cast, tunnels and galleries) they are geologically linked to the mines at Pierrefitte and Batz and are part of the same concession. In 1786 De Dietrich wrote of considerable excavations in which we can see lots of sphalerite and a little galena and rubble which stretch for a considerable distance.
