World Record - Longest polyamid (nylon) longline - 305m near Bern, Switzerland

11. 10. 2019

WORLD RECORD - like in the old days :)
On Sunday, the 7.10.2018 Joshua and Thomas decided to go for one of the longest standing records in slacklining.

The polyamid (nylon) Longline record was set 281m 4 YEARS AGO sent by Harry Höglinger from Austria rigged under the lead of Philipp Gesing in Germany.

Whilst the 300m mark is not impressive knowadays, and the line was also not a huge challenge to walk, the real reason why this record stood for 4 years was the spot you need and especially the rigging effort you need to put into this.

Back in the day the 300m mark was a big one, the first 300m hightech longline walked was in 2010, the 300m PES followed in 2012 and now 6 years later the 300m PAD line mark fell.

Thomas thought about how to rig this line safely for 4 years, meaning not having to walk several meters high over ground. On sunday it all came together, since the right material was at hand - making it easy to tension the line and also release and tension such a line while someone is on it.
This record therefore is more of a "rigging record" than anything else.
